Profiles let you group calendars when working with multiple calendars. If you do not yet use multiple calendars, please first read the article Organize your events in multiple calendars.

1

Using Profiles

By default, the app manages your calendars through different built-in profile presets:

The ALL Profile

This is a static profile containing all of your calendars. The only exceptions are calendars you explicitly deactivate in the main calendar list, which are never shown anywhere.

Account and Local Profiles

aCalendar automatically creates static profiles for each of your individual cloud sync accounts as well as for your local on-device calendars.

Visual Indicators and Widgets

Whenever you switch to any profile other than ALL, the standard hamburger menu icon changes into a dedicated circular profile icon. In widgets, you can select a profile and decide if the app should open in the widget's profile or in your default layout.

2

Switching Profiles and Shortcuts

To change your active profile context, you can always open the side menu and click on the profile selector at the very top. Alternatively, you can configure quick gestures and hardware buttons:

Available Shortcuts

You can map profile switching to the physical volume buttons, a 3-finger-tap gesture, or a simple tap on the date shown in the title bar. All of these shortcuts can be customized by going to SettingsGestures & Buttons.

3

Managing Profiles (aCalendar+)

Creating completely custom personal profiles requires either aCalendar+ or the business features upgrade:

Configuration and Defaults

Open the profile selector in the menu and click on Manage profiles. There you can add new configurations using the plus button in the bottom right corner. To edit an existing profile, delete it, or set it as your main system default, open its context menu by performing a long press on its name.

Instant Profile Option

If you want to quickly look at one or more specific calendars right now without building a real permanent custom setup, you can use the temporary Instant profile option located right inside the profile switcher.
