Want to use calendars from ownCloud, Synology, Yahoo, web.de, GMX, Posteo or any other CalDAV service in aCalendar? Here is how to set it up.

1

How it works

aCalendar does not connect to CalDAV servers directly. Instead, a separate app (e.g. DAVx⁵) handles the sync between your CalDAV service and Android – aCalendar then displays the result.

Think of it like this: DAVx⁵ fetches your calendar data and stores it on your phone. aCalendar reads what is stored there and shows it to you. The two apps work together seamlessly.

2

Step-by-step setup

1

Install DAVx⁵

Download DAVx⁵ from Google Play or visit the DAVx⁵ homepage for more information.

2

Add your account in DAVx⁵

Open DAVx⁵ and add your CalDAV account (e.g. your ownCloud or Synology server address, or your Yahoo / web.de / GMX login).

3

Select calendars to sync

In DAVx⁵, tick the calendars you want to sync to your phone.

4

Open aCalendar

Your CalDAV calendars will now appear automatically in aCalendar. No extra setup needed.

3

CalDAV tasks (optional)

Want to sync CalDAV-based tasks too? You can – with one extra app.

Install tasks.org

Install tasks.org in addition to DAVx⁵. Once set up, your CalDAV tasks will appear in aCalendar alongside your calendar events.
