aCalendar offers built-in, official public holidays for over 50 countries (some with subregions) as well as school holidays for select countries. Here is how to configure them and troubleshoot date issues.
Adding Holidays to aCalendar
Unlike some cloud calendars, we stick strictly to official dates. You can set them up via your main calendar list:
Wrong or Missing Dates
If you notice incorrect holiday dates or duplicates, it usually means you are displaying data from an outside source rather than aCalendar's built-in lists:
Verify the Source Calendar
Open the event details and check the very top. Calendars provided directly by aCalendar are marked with an a, while calendars from Google Calendar are marked with a G. If a Google holiday calendar keeps returning after you turn it off, you will need to disable it inside the official Google Calendar app.
Reporting Errors
If you find a genuine error within aCalendar's own dataset, please contact us and provide a reference to an official regional source so we can update it.
Supported Countries
We continuously expand our lists based on regional demand and information complexity. The currently supported regions include:
Public Holidays: Argentina, Australia*, Austria*, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada*, Chile*, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany*, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain*, Sweden, Switzerland*, Turkey, United Kingdom*, United States, Uruguay.
(Subregions are available for countries marked with an asterisk *).
School Holidays: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Czech Republic.
Important Exception: We do not offer built-in public holidays for Israel directly inside aCalendar due to the high difficulty of finding reliable, English-language source data. You can subscribe to Israeli holidays via Google Calendar.
