Are you switching to a new Android device? Usually, when you change phones, your apps and data are automatically transferred by your phone setup wizard. If some information is missing, here is a complete guide to safely transfer your licenses, calendars, birthdays, and tasks.

1

Transfer aCalendar / aCalendar+ Licenses

Your app purchases are handled by the store platforms (like Google Play), not by the app itself. If your premium version is not showing up, please read our guide on what to do if aCalendar+ is not recognized on a new phone.

Installing the App

If the app did not copy over automatically, simply open your app store and install your version (aCalendar or the paid aCalendar+) again.

In-App Purchases (IAP)

Any upgrades you made inside the free version will be unlocked automatically, as long as you log in with the exact same Google Account.

App Settings

Your configuration and visual app settings should automatically be backed up and restored via your Google Account backup.

2

Transfer Calendar Data

Important: aCalendar has no own calendar data! It simply displays the calendars managed by your Android system.

Cloud Calendars (Recommended)

If you use Google, Outlook, or CalDAV, all data transfers automatically from the cloud to your new phone once your cloud accounts are configured in the phone settings.

Local Offline Calendars

If you keep offline data, you should already have a backup routine. You can transfer calendar files from a PC to your new device, or export your old local calendars to a file first (it is highly recommended to import them into a cloud service for the future).

3

Transfer Birthday Data

Important: aCalendar has no own birthday data! Birthdays come directly from your calendar accounts or your contacts list.

Cloud Contacts

If your contacts are saved in a cloud account (like Google Contacts), everything will sync down to your new smartphone automatically.

Local Contacts

If you have local contacts, you can convert them to cloud contacts inside your Contacts app, or move them using the official manufacturer transfer software (or third-party tools like MyPhoneExplorer).

4

Transfer Tasks (Cloud & Local)

Just like your calendar data, task lists depend heavily on where they are stored:

A

Cloud Tasks

Cloud-based tasks will download automatically once you connect your services. Note: If you run into sync problems, make sure your new device has granted "autostart" permissions for your calendar/tasks apps.

B

Local Offline Tasks

Local tasks must be exported manually. On your old phone, go to Tasks → Manage lists and accounts. Long-press on the specific task list you want to move to open the menu and select Export. On your new phone, open the same menu, click the Plus (+) button, and select Import.
